About

Greetings! My name is Scott Morey, as the title of this blog might suggest.  I am very much interested in technology, traveling to cool places, music, books, movies, art, education, fine drink and food, etc.  I was born in the small Lake Michigan coastal village of Frankfort, Michigan, where I went to school, worked at a grocery store from age 14 to 23, and was involved in all kind of foolishness.

I received my undergraduate degree at Central Michigan University and after experimenting with Computer Science, having a quarter-life crisis, hanging out at the Bird, and meeting/living with some awesome people, I graduated with a degree in English and History and a secondary education teaching certificate.

After finding the teaching-job market in Northern Michigan a little less than friendly, I took what was to be a temporary position as Education Technology Coordinator at Interlochen Center for the Arts.  I spent four years there,  having an awesome time doing really cool things with some amazing people, before accepting a position at Traverse Area District Library as the Assistant Director for Technology.

I just bought a house in downtown Traverse City, Michigan and recently completed my masters degree in the University of Michigan’s Global Education Technology program.
